Dear Families,
I encourage each of you to embrace the opportunity to become an active, engaged participant in our school community – your support both in and out of the classroom is what makes Harvey Green a special place for all of our children to learn and grow. Throughout this website and future newsletters you will find information about joining the PTA, the School Site Council, helping in classrooms and participating in special events during the year.
Research has shown that students’ whose parents are involved in their education do better in school and in life. By sending your child to school prepared to learn and taking part in school activities you will assure that your student has a successful learning experience!
Single Plan for Pupil Achievement (SPPA)
Last year our Single Plan for Pupil Achievement (SPPA) was revised and updated into a comprehensive 5 year plan of our school's goals and objectives for meeting our students academic, social, and emotional needs. You can access our plan via the school district website located at www.fremont.k12.ca.us for more information. However, I would like to share our vision and mission statements with you.
Harvey Green School is dedicated to "Educating Today's Learners for Tomorrow's World."
Our vision is to provide an educational environment that challenges and motivates students of all ages, skills, and talents; and gives them a sense of discovery and the ability to adapt and succeed in an ever changing world.
Our mission is to develop students who:
- Are cooperative learners able to listen and to exchange ideas effectively
- Take responsibility for their work and their actions
- Respect and accept the differences, strengths, and weaknesses of themselves and others
- Value learning and have mastered the academic knowledge to succeed in the world
- Exhibit the self-confidence to problem solve and to make good decisions
