RESERVATION FORMS FOR 2008-9

In February, the office will be mailing home an annual District Reservation Form. This form serves two purposes. It tells the school where you intend to send your child to school next year, and it fulfills the District's mandated annual residence verification.

When you get this form, be sure to complete it and return it to the school office along with a current PG&E bill. If we do not receive a form, your child will NOT be placed on a class list in September. We will not be handing the forms out from the office, the MUST be received in the US mail.

If you have moved, please be sure to provide the office with your new residency information so that we may update our records.

VACATIONS & STUDY PLANS

If you are taking a trip and your child will miss any school, please remember you MUST either call or write a note to inform us before you leave. Also, if your trip will take your child away from school for five or more school days, you may request an Independent Study contract. To do so, submit a letter to your child's teacher and requesting the contract at least one week before you leave. The teacher will assign work for your child to do while away. You will need to come in to meet with your teacher and sign the contract..

FUSD COMMITTEES

There are a number of district committees that meet each year and ask for parent representatives from our school to attend. Currently the DELAC (District English Language Acquistion Committee) and the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) need representation. If interested, contact our principal, Nanci Pass, at 510 656-6438.

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL

Our School Site Council is an elected committee of parents, faculty and staff that work together on school improvements. The focus is on curriculum (what the students are taught) and on special needs students including the gifted, English Language Learner and Special Education pupils. All parents are invited to attend.

SEVERE ALLERGIES AT SCHOOL

We have several students at our school, that are allergic to foods, especially nuts (peanuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, etc). When exposed to nuts, especially by eating them, but sometimes just by touching nuts or their oils, or breathing their fumes, these students may break into hives, or even have their airways swell up and they could stop breathing!!! PLEASE help us to keep all of our students healthy at school.

  • A. Talk to your children about not sharing their food, lunches, etc. with other students unless an adult Okays it.
  • B. Please consider sending books stickers and pencils to celebrate special occasions such as Birthdays other than food items.
  • C. If you bring, or send, food to school for parties etc. please do not send any foods that have nuts or nut products. Read food labels for nuts or nut derivatives. Sometimes even plain M& Ms, gummy bears, peanut butter, and puddings (pistachio etc) may have nuts or oils.
Please notify our school, nurse and your child’s teacher if your child has, or develops such allergies
